About Our Practice in St. Marys

Meet Carol, a Doctor of Optometry who proudly earned her degree from the University of Waterloo. In 2010, driven by her desire to contribute to the local community, she took a bold step by establishing St Marys Optometry. With a passion for nurturing eye health, Carol dedicates herself to providing comprehensive eye exams that cater to all ages, showcasing a remarkable knack for connecting with children and infants. Carol has a discerning eye for style when it comes to eyewear, favouring renowned brands like Fysh, Modo, Oakley, and Maui Jim to help her clients look and see their best.

When she’s not being awesome at work, Carol enjoys spending time with her husband Mike and their teens Meg and Luke. Her favourite activity is playing pickleball, and she also enjoys golf, running, and walking around town with the family dogs Scout and Hunter. When it’s time to put her feet up she’s happy to read or watch tv with a cup of tea and a square of dark chocolate.

Erica obtained her undergraduate degree in biology from the University of Windsor. She then completed her Doctorate of Optometry at the Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago. When she wasn’t studying, she could be found consuming many deep dish pizzas!

Erica has a remarkable passion for serving the families of St Marys and the surrounding area, going out of her way to meet and help everyone she can. The highlight of Erica’s day is getting to meet new people and making eye care fun, informative, and approachable.

In her spare time, Erica likes to travel the world, go swimming at the beach, and participate in sports such as soccer, volleyball, and triathlons. But more than anything, Erica loves spending time with friends and family, especially her husband, kids Ivy and Ava, and their dog Maverick.

Erica is not just a Doctory of Optometry; she’s also a friendly and approachable member of the St Marys Optometry team, dedicated to providing top-notch eye care to the community.

Maggie Banks, the office manager at St Marys Optometry, boasts over a decade of experience. She holds a Bachelor of Design from the Ontario College of Art & Design and is CCOA-certified, ensuring top-quality eye care.

Maggie’s eyewear favourites include Maui Jim and Eco, reflecting her love of stylish and sustainable choices.

When she’s not providing expert eye care or offering eyewear advice, Maggie indulges her passion for theatre. She’s an avid theatre-goer and a regular at the Stratford Festival.  Outside work, Maggie’s training for her first marathon in the spring of 2024. She’s also an art enthusiast, avid reader, and loves spending time with her family by the pool.

Residing in Lucan, Maggie is a passionate supporter of local businesses. Her favourite places to shop locally are Little Falls Artisan Market, Hearn’s Ice Cream, Betty’s Bookshelf and Stone Home Creatives.

Maggie is excited to be part of St Marys Optometry, where she not only provides expert eye care but also connects with the vibrant local community. Whether you need eyewear advice, running tips, or simply want to chat about your favourite book, Maggie is here to make your eye care experience exceptional.

Mary and her husband Casey discovered the charm of St. Marys in the fall of 2018, drawn by the town’s inviting hiking trails and the local golf course.

Joining the St. Marys Optometry team in 2019, Mary proved to be a perfect fit. Her compassionate and attentive approach to guiding patients through their eye health appointments and follow-ups to specialized care showcases her excellence in patient care.

With a career history steeped in client care communications, Mary’s wealth of knowledge enriches our team’s expertise.

In 2020, Mary considered retirement, but lucky for us, she rejoined our team in 2021, bringing back her administrative magic and warm presence. Beyond work, Mary enjoys spending time with family and friends, volunteering at the Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame, and contributing to the St. Marys Horticultural Society. Her interests span hiking, enjoying live theater in both Drayton and Stratford, travel and reading.

Mary has her go-to local spots: Barista’s, where the service, coffee, and treats are unmatched; Zenfire Pottery, where delightful finds await; and Troyer Spices, where quality and variety never disappoint.

If you ask her about her favorite eyeglass frames, Mary happily recommends our Eco-friendly frames, gentle on the environment, and Guess frames that encompass a good variety of styles.

Mary’s commitment to patient care, community engagement, and her vibrant personality make her an integral part of the St Marys Optometry team.

Mandy is a remarkable individual with a degree in business marketing from Fanshawe’s Lawrence Kinlin School of Business, complemented by her genuine and caring personality. Her background is well- rooted into grassroots community support, which she combines with her creative branding and marketing expertise.

Currently, Mandy’s an invaluable member of the team at St Marys Optometry and has recently completed her Canadian Certified Optometric Assistance course in 2022. Her role extends beyond professional duties with her warm and welcoming nature as she forages meaningful connections with our patients, making them feel both comfortable and cared for.

Within the office, Mandy seamlessly assists with frame selections and guides patients through the diagnostic and imaging process. She has an innate ability to put patients at ease, answering any questions that arise and enjoys making their experience a most memorable one. Notably, Mandy’s artistic background keeps a keen eye for eyewear, with personal favourites leaning into brands like Vanni, Izumi, Eco and Kate Spade.

Outside of her professional life, Mandy finds joy in nature alongside her curiosity for learning. She appreciates listening to a great podcast while continually exploring creative mediums. She maintains an active lifestyle at the Y and takes pleasure in supporting local businesses, always on the hunt for unique finds. In her beloved St Marys community, you can often find her exploring Zenfire Pottery, savoring the local maple syrup from McCully’s Hill Farm, or delighting in her favourite croissants at The Flour Mill.

Mandy’s kind hearted approach to life shines both in and out of the office, making her both a near and dear member of the community and a valuable asset to our St Marys Optometry team.

In 2017, Vicki relocated to St Marys alongside her husband and their two daughters. For several years, she had the privilege of dedicating her time to nurturing her children before embarking on a new chapter in her career at St Marys Optometry.

Within the office, Vicki is a valuable presence, contributing to various tasks such as imaging, frame selections, adjustments, and repairs. Vicki possesses a discerning eye for eyewear fashion, with a preference for brands like Modo, Fysh, Guess, and Maui Jim.

Beyond her professional life, Vicki indulges in a range of personal interests during her leisure hours. She enjoys a good book, the challenge of Sudoku puzzles, engaging in board games, perfecting her golf swing, and relishing the joys of glamping alongside family and friends at their trailer.

When exploring the town, you can often find Vicki frequenting her favourite local spots, including Troyers Spices, Jacobs Liquidation, Joe’s Diner, and Hearn’s Ice Cream.
